The performance cores of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 are rumored to run at 4.60GHz for the regular version—a small increase from the 4.32GHz seen in the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Similar to its predecessor, the SoC will continue using a ‘2 + 6’ cluster configuration but benefit from TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process (‘N3P’), allowing for higher frequencies. Digital Chat Station mentions that the performance cores operate at 4.60GHz with the new Adreno 840 GPU hitting 1.20GHz, compared to the Adreno 830’s 1.10GHz.
Qualcomm is likely to introduce a ‘Leading Edition’ of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 late next year, capable of even higher clock speeds and improved scores. In fact, 2025 might see Qualcomm’s flagship SoC crowned the fastest smartphone silicon due to Apple’s rumored focus on power efficiency for its upcoming A19 and A19 Pro chips.
The tipster also reported updated AnTuTu scores, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 now scoring 4 million points. This is nearly 50% higher than the current leader on AnTuTu’s rankings—the iQOO 13, which scored 2,671,305 points.
With these specifications, we anticipate that the SoC will easily surpass 10,000 points in Geekbench 6’s multi-core test. However, official scores are expected in a future leak or a few weeks before Qualcomm officially unveils the chipset.
