The age of silicon-carbon batteries has given phone manufacturers significant flexibility when it comes to equipping devices with larger battery cells. Realme, a company at the forefront of these advancements, has unveiled a concept smartphone featuring an enormous 15,000mAh battery. Contrary to expectations, this device is surprisingly thin, measuring only 8.89mm.
With the massive 15,000mAh battery, Realme claims that its concept phone can deliver up to 50 hours of video playback while maintaining a slim profile. It’s unlikely that this device will enter mass production, but if there’s indeed a market for such a large battery, we might see it in the near future with some adjustments.
This model is targeted at the mid-range segment and features a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor alongside 12GB of RAM and a 6.7-inch OLED display. The device’s biggest selling point is its impressive battery capacity. Realme claims users can get 18 hours of continuous silent video capture, 50 hours of video playback, and five hours of daily usage.
While the rear camera specifications are unknown, the device’s primary feature—the massive battery—likely overshadows other components. If Realme believes there is a market for such technology, it could refine the design with better internals.
The concept phone was officially announced on Twitter:

The Dimensity 7300 processor is not capable of delivering a ‘flagship’ experience. If Realme were to reduce the battery capacity in favor of better internals, it would likely be seen as progress.
For now, if the company’s goal was simply to generate buzz around its concept product for a brief period, it appears successful.
