Starting with this strategy, Samsung has officially begun rolling out One UI 8 based on Android 16, detailing its device update schedule. The rollout will begin with Samsung’s latest flagship models and then extend to foldables, tablets, mid-range devices, and older Galaxy smartphones.
The first devices in line for the update are the Galaxy S25 series (S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge), which started receiving the update on September 15, 2025. The Galaxy S24 lineup will follow, followed by the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold Special Edition. Next in line are the Galaxy S23 series (S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE), along with the S22 series.
Selected A-series models like the A36, A35, A25, A56, and A53 will also receive this update. Samsung is stretching out the schedule for the rest of the year, with many Galaxy tablets expected to get the update by late October 2025.
Older Galaxy devices will undergo a phased rollout that continues through the end of 2025. The latest interface in One UI 8 brings significant improvements, including privacy and security features, AI-powered tools, enhanced multitasking capabilities, smoother animations, and improved system apps.
Several factors such as region, carrier, and device model can still influence when users receive the update. However, those with the latest flagships won’t have to wait long, ensuring a clear picture of which devices will be updated first. Overall, One UI 8 is a meaningful update packed with advanced features and improvements.
