In a unique start to his ruling against President Donald Trump’s administration on September 30, U.S. District Court Judge William Young included a scanned handwritten note sent to his office. The note read: “Trump has pardons and tanks – what do you have?” At the top of Young’s opinion in AAUP v. Rubio, which ruled that Trump’s effort to deport foreign-born student protesters was unconstitutional.

The Flex Magic Pixel technology will work in conjunction with CoE (Color Filter on Encapsulation), making the Galaxy S26 Ultra the first ‘candy bar’ smartphone to adopt these advancements. Samsung has been developing this technology for some time but plans to introduce it into mass production. In addition to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Flex Magic Pixel might also be included in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

With Flex Magic Pixel, users no longer need to apply privacy-protection films, as AI will create an effect similar to attaching these films when needed. This technology enhances user privacy without reducing overall display brightness or visibility levels. For example, when the Galaxy S26 Ultra opens an app, AI will precisely generate a protective effect.

Flex Magic Pixel was showcased at K-Display 2025, but reports suggest that it will be exclusively available on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This will make Samsung’s top-end smartphone the only ‘candy bar’ device to feature both Flex Magic Pixel and CoE. CoE replaces the polarizer in OLEDs with a color filter printed on the thin-film encapsulation (TFT), replacing the conventional pixel define layer (PDL) with black PDL.

This approach ensures pure blacks and better visibility outdoors. Experts believe that CoE is necessary for incorporating privacy-focused technologies like Flex Magic Pixel, as it can offset light loss when Flex Magic Pixel is activated, leading to a superior viewing experience. There is no information on whether Samsung plans to license this technology to its partners, but updates will be provided in the future.
