Samsung is set to mass produce the Exynos 2600 for the upcoming Galaxy S26, which is launching early next year. This could mark a shift from Qualcomm’s dominance in smartphone chipsets. Earlier this year, Samsung announced that the Exynos 2600 would be its first 2nm GAA silicon and highlighted significant improvements in NPU performance over the previous generation. A recent report indicates that yield issues have been resolved, allowing for full-scale production.

Potential overheating concerns will be addressed by a technology called Heat Pass Block (HPB). This should ensure optimal performance from the Exynos 2600. Several months ago, it was reported that Samsung’s 2nm GAA process had a lower yield of around 30 percent, but ETNews suggests this number has improved.

The Galaxy S26 family will likely include both Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Exynos 2600 versions, depending on the region. The launch of the Exynos 2600 is expected to reduce Samsung’s expenditure for the year. Recent Geekbench 6 tests showed impressive scores from the Exynos 2600, rivaling an underclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Samsung must also improve its image among customers to secure orders, as technological prowess alone is not enough. Historically, the Exynos line has struggled with overheating issues, but HPB technology aims to prevent this problem. This implementation was previously mentioned and should help maintain optimal thermals for the Exynos 2600.
