Samsung Announces the New Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra to Compete Against the M4 iPad Pro
The highlight of the lineup is the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. As thin as a 13-inch OLED iPad Pro with an M4 chip, at just 5.1mm, it features a larger 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that weighs impressively light at 692 grams. The screen boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, an anti-reflective coating, and peak brightness of 1,600 nits, making it ideal for content consumption, creation, or work in bright environments.
The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chip, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. You can even expand the storage via a microSD card slot to reach 2TB. The device integrates Samsung’s deep AI features within One UI 8, based on Android 16. This integration enhances features like text summarization, sketch refinement, and smart multitasking.
The battery life is impressive, offering up to 23 hours of video playback and supporting 45W fast charging. It also boasts durability with an Armor Aluminum frame and IP68 dust and water resistance. The S Pen has been refined for better grip and support for new AI features but lacks wireless charging.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 is as Powerful as the Tab S11 Ultra, but in a Smaller Package
A smaller model, the Galaxy Tab S11, features an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2560 by 1600 and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports peak brightness of 1,600 nits and is impressively thin at just 5.5mm.
The Galaxy Tab S11 features the same MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset for enhanced performance, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage that can be extended via microSD card to up to 2TB. It also comes with an 8,400mAh battery offering up to 18 hours of video playback at the same 45W charging speed.
Both models are built tough with Armor Aluminum and feature IP68 dust and water resistance. They include a S Pen and support desktop experience through DeX, turning them into mini workstations. You can connect an external display or attach a mouse or keypad for extended navigation and controls.
Both devices come with 7 years of OS upgrades and security updates, extending their lifespan well into the future. The Galaxy Tab S11 starts at $799.99, while the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra begins at $1,199. They are available starting September 4 in select markets in Grey and Silver color options.
