The development team made this decision to ensure the game receives more polish. As part of their message to the Dying Light community, they stated:
> It has always been our goal to make Dying Light: The Beast the best Dying Light game we’ve ever released. To honor this promise, we’ve decided to move the release date to September 19, 2025, allowing for additional polishing work.
They noted that while this delay might be disappointing, it is crucial because a strong first impression matters. With just four more weeks, they can address final details that distinguish good from great. Specific areas of focus include fine-tuning gameplay balance, improving UI clarity, enhancing physics quality, and refining cutscenes and player animations.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human received mixed reviews, which Techland is keen to avoid repeating with Dying Light: The Beast. Recently, the game was featured in a fresh round of previews, including an in-depth hands-on preview published on Wccftech by Kai Tatsumoto. If you are attending Gamescom, the game will be playable in Hall 6. Even if you cannot visit Cologne, Techland will continue to share more information about the game. Next week, they will publish a new development diary focusing on how they handled gore in this title, narrated by Bober the Beaver.
