Ghost of Yotei is set for release on PS5 and PS5 Pro later this year, specifically on October 2, 2025. Ahead of its launch, developer Sucker Punch Productions confirmed that the multiplayer Legends mode from Ghost of Tsushima will be included in Ghost of Yotei with a 2026 release window.
Like in Ghost of Tsushima, where Legends was free DLC for players, it will also be offered as free DLC for all owners of Ghost of Yotei when the game launches next year. Andrew Goldfarb, senior communications manager at Sucker Punch, described this new mode: “Ghost of Yōtei Legends will feature two-player story missions and four-player survival matches. Players will take on one of four character classes to defeat demonic, giant versions of members from the Yōtei Six, along with various new enemies that fight alongside them.”

The PlayStation Blog post also featured concept art of the enemies you’ll face, including a samurai with red hair and horned helmet holding a grenade launcher, an ornate samurai with an elaborate helmet and traditional sword standing against an abstract background, and a mystical warrior in traditional attire wielding a katana, surrounded by blue and white hues.
While it’s exciting to return to Legends following the main release of Yotei, which is scheduled for October 2025, we’ll have to wait until 2026 to try out this new co-op mode. It’s a shame that attendees at Gamescom ONL 2025 and the rest of the convention won’t get a chance to play it this week.
Despite the delay, Legends was a beloved addition in Ghost of Tsushima, and its inclusion in Yotei further solidifies the game as a true successor to Ghost of Tsushima in Sucker Punch’s ‘Ghost’ series.
